The export value for agricultural products will surpass its target for the year, hitting US$15.2 billion, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Statistics from the ministry shows that total export value in the first ten months this year reached $12.7 billion and is expected to earn $2.5 billion in November and December.
Besides the old markets of Japan and the EU, Vietnamese products have gained a stronger foothold in Russia, Ukraine, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.
Rice, coffee, pepper, cashew nut and rubber were the biggest earners, according to agriculture deputy minister, Diep Kinh Tan.
Early this year, the government assigned the sector a target of $14 billion.
