A group of five Vietnamese young filmmakers will have their short film shown at an international contest for student filmmakers to be held from November 7 and 8 in Hollywood.
The group includes five students from the Interactive Media Design Department of the Raffles International College Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City.
Their work, a short thriller movie named “The 4th,” was among the 64 movies chosen from 250 entries submitted to the International Student Film Festival Hollywood 2009 (ISFFH).
“The 4th,” a 20-minute movie about the mystery of the fourth floor of a house, is the graduation project which cost VND3.5 million (US$196.13) to film.
It will be screened at 9p.m. on November 7 at the Beverly Garland's Theater in Hollywood, California. The filmmakers were also invited to attend the contest’s awards ceremony on the following day.
ISFFH, which will run for the 7th time this year, is organized every year by the U.S-based non-profit organization International Student Film Festival Hollywood.
It offers student filmmakers from all over the world a unique opportunity to gain the recognition of film industry leaders, creating career development opportunities in their home countries as well as in the U.S.
Once the winners in all categories have been chosen, ISFFH will assist student filmmakers and their schools with distribution rights of the festival films.
